(Disclaimer: I never studied Camus with a professor. This Sisyphus is very much like the Sisyphus portrayed by Camus, an existentialist who believed in the innate meaninglessness of life. This one man, who arguably has the worst fate of any character, offers Zagreus hospitality, does not hate his oppressors (says multiple times how he does not hate Megara or Thanatos for their torture), and, when given an opportunity to leave his post, stays because he is truly satisfied with his afterlife experience. Among a group of characters who are base line satisfied at best and down right depressed at worst. That being said, there is certainly one character who stands out among the dramatic cast that Super Giant has expertly crafted and that's Sisyphus. This alone makes this game stand out to me. Never have I been so impressed with the accuracy of a portrayed mythos and it's drama that follows the feel of almost everything the Greeks wrote. In short, I know the "source material" used for this game very well. For context, I was a Classical Languages major (Greek and Latin) in college and I also studied a heavy bit of Philosophy. I've been playing this game for quite a bit now and I'm always impressed by the level of detail that has gone into every aspect of the game.
